Last thursday, we had to build some stairs, the choices were: Spiral staircase or Mansion stairs. Mansion Stairs looked more complex and challenging, as i already knew how the bend tool worked to make spiral staircase, making the build seem to simple.

Started off by building a base slab for my stair and a single step design

using Shift+D to copy an object i build the stairs up 13 steps (as this is average steps per flight of stairs) once copied up the steps i made more steps rotated to the side. Then made a banister post the same way as i did with the rocking chair. added these to the steps (2 posts per step)

I added a long half cylinder across all the banisters, i also added a backdrop so i could see the stairs better.

This is what i was left with, i disliked the back drop and remove it later on. this is jst an overall look of what my staircase is currently

i then had to add these wedges as a connecter for the poles to the banister this was just a primitive square with the top right vertex moved down and the side faces pulled in for more detail.

i then removed the backdrop and added a bainster along the back wall without wedges beteen the poles and banister as the bainster is curved

this is the final product of my staircase this overall took me 45 minutes to make, and has taught me a lot of features i can use and ideas for future builds.
